Emails Undelivered

Tally will notify you if your emails are not delivered.  If you have email delivery issues, you may need to change settings on your domain server to authorise Tally to send mails on your behalf.   This can be done by editing SPF and DKIM entries.  The changes required are listed below.

Please note, these settings are controlled outside Tally and we are unable to help you make the required changes.  Normally, the person who deals with your IT/websites will be able to help you make the changes required.

SPF

When you send emails via Tally, it impersonates you by using your email address as the sender address.  This can sometimes cause problems if your domain name is set up with something called SPF.

This issue should be resolved if your administrator can make some changes to your DNS settings.  You’ll need to add records of type ‘TXT’ through your hosting provider, domain registrar, or DNS provider.  The value for this record should be:

v=spf1 include:spf.mandrillapp.com

If you already have a TXT record with SPF information, you’ll need to add Mandrill’s (our new email service provider) servers to that record by adding the following to the record (before the last operator, which is usually ?all, ~all, or -all):

include:spf.mandrillapp.com

If this is all gobbledegook to you, then ask whoever manages your email to take a look at this page and they should be able to take care of it for you.

DKIM

To enable DKIM, create a TXT record for mandrill._domainkey.<your domain name> (i.e. mandrill._domainkey.mychocolateshop.com) with the following value:

v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQCrLHiExVd55zd/IQ/J/mRwSRMAocV/hMB3jXwaHH36d9NaVynQFYV8NaWi69c1veUtRzGt7yAioXqLj7Z4TeEUoOLgrKsn8YnckGs9i3B3tVFB+Ch/4mPhXWiNfNdynHWBcPcbJ8kjEQ2U8y78dHZj1YeRXXVvWob2OaKynO8/lQIDAQAB;
