Known Browser Issues

Tally currently has one or two known issues with legacy internet browsers; these and their workarounds and solutions are listed here.

Internet Explorer - No Charts or Graphs

Internet Explorer currently has a known issue where it sometimes doesn't display charts and graphs in the reports section and also on the overview page.  This results in a completely blank area where the visual data should be.  You’ll be happy to hear there’s a quick and easy solution to this problem; all you have to do is enable something called Compatibility View.  To do this, just follow this quick step-by-step:

  1. In internet Explorer, click ‘Tools’ from the main menu bar If you don’t have a main menu bar, right click just outside the address bar and you’ll see a list of menu bars you can enable, click ‘Menu Bar’ to show it.
  2. Click ‘Compatibility View Settings’.
  3. In the textbox to the right of ‘Add this website...’ enter https://securedwebapp.com.
  4. Click the ‘Add’ button.
  5. Close and restart internet explorer.
  6. Try to view a report now; you should see nice shiny graphs and charts!

Internet Explorer - Unable to click buttons in Tally

We've currently got an issue where some buttons in Tally aren't clickable.  So far we've only seen this happen on a very old version of Safari when using an older version of Apple OS X.  The solution is a two-step solution and involves changing browsers:

  1. Download the latest OS X updates for your computer by clicking the little apple icon in the top left of the screen and selecting 'Check for updates', Make sure you download and install all available updates.
  2. Download and install Google Chrome - as long as you've got the latest updates you should be able to install this and access Tally without a problem.

Internet Explorer 9

For users who recently upgraded their Internet Explorer web browser to the latest version (IE9), you may find that there may be some issues with logging in to your Tally account, difficulty downloading CSV files or viewing your account in compatibility mode when using the new version.  A way around this is to open a new window on your web browser, click on Tools menu, select Internet Options -> Advanced -> Security and ensure that the option “Do not save encrypted pages to disk” is disabled.  This feature saves encrypted web pages in a special folder on your computer called “Temporary Internet file”.  To prevent this from happening, the feature needs to be disabled.
